We don't typically highlight a single manufacturer in the office products industry as they all contribute significant products that are well received by a deserving public. Refusing to rest on their buttocks, 3M has given the industry what it needed...unique products that are functional and desirable. Of course their quiver of products includes the items we all grew up on, standard Post-Its, Scotch Tape and the like, but they really hit it out of the park with their simple stiletto tape dispenser. 3M Tape Dispenser Free. If you checked it out you can see why the ladies (and some men) want this piece of molded plastic so badly. It puts a little personality on your desktop and lightens up the mood to what can otherwise often be a stale environment. Sometimes it is the little things. Anyway, 3M takes it a step further with their purse note dispenser, their Super Sticky Notes, and with their Zen like note dispenser, which is both contemporary and quite stylish. The point of all this is that they altered their products in a way that made drab items popular again. There is a lesson in there for all of us. Creativity is king and change is constant.
